  • About Bina Punjani Bridals - a BRANDED hairstyling and makeup service
    Bina Punjani Bridals is a brand is headed by Bina Punjani, one of India's most respected names in the salon industry. We have 4 salons, an academy and a makeup and hair vertical, all based in Goa, with about 45 full time employees. This includes 7-8 makeup artists and 7-8 hairstyling artists. We are the only brand in Goa with such a large in-house capability. allowing us to take up booking of upto 20 artists / 100+ guests at a time. Other players have much smaller teams and hire freelancers with different abilities and skill sets for larger bookings, leading to a lot of variability in quality. All our artists are trained and mentored in house, and work in the same system. When you book with us, it is our responsibility, as a brand, to ensure that you get the same high quality of service from all our artists. In other words, we are not a provider of different artists with different skills, techniques and sensibilities - all our artists are required to deliver OUR kind of work. (It's like dining at a high-end branded restaurant - you get the same quality of food, no matter which individual chef is preparing it in the kitchen)
  • Where are you located?
    We are a Goa based brand, with 4 salons, an academy and a bridal vertical. Our hair and makeup team is based in Panjim and Porvorim in North Goa.
  • Will you provide services at my hotel / home / venue?
    Yes, we provide at-venue hair and makeup services all across Goa for both brides and guests / family members / bridesmaids
  • Who are the artists that will come for my booking?
    Bina Punjani Bridals is a branded hairstyling and makeup service. The brand is headed by Bina Punjani, and we have 4 salon, an academy and a makeup and hair vertical, all based in Goa, with about 45 full time employees. We have a large in-house capability, with about 15 artists that are full time employees. All of them have been trained in-house and mentored personally by Bina Punjani. In addition, we also have access to many hair and makeup artists who are trained by us at our academy and have significant experience working independently. For brides, we only send our in-house bridal artists - these are the most skilled and senior artists in our system who have been specifically identified and trained for this. Some of them specialize only in hair and some only in makeup. For guest / family bookings, we send only our in-house artists for most bookings. For larger bookings, we occasionally deploy some of the best artists who have been trained by us as the academy, and have significant experience working independently. In all cases, it is our responsibility as a brand that you get a high quality of service that is consistent with our brand language.
  • Can I see the work of the individual artist and pick the artists that I like?
    No, we do not store, share or display work of the individual artists that work for us. All our artists are extensively trained and mentored in house in our methods, and are required to deliver our kind of work. So the work we share is brand work, not individual. Brides who get a trial with us, can book the same artists that do the trial for their wedding (subject to availability at the time of booking). You still make a decision on getting the trial based on BRAND work and not individual work, but you do get to book the same artists when you do the booking. For guest / family hair and makeup, we typically allocate artists a few days before the booking. It is not possible to reserve specific artists for guest / family bookings. However, it is OUR job, as a brand, to ensure that we send the right artists for your booking.
  • What if my function is delayed or timings are changed?
    The timings decided at the time of booking are considered tentative / indicative. In case of delay or changes, you simply need to let us know beforehand. We typically take an hour or more to get to the venue, so if you let us know at least two hours in advance, we can accordingly leave late. We are not ok with reaching your venue, and then being asked to wait because of a delay or timing change, or late arrival of flights etc, simply because no one bothered to inform us. If the previous function started late, you can inform us, or a flight is delayed, you can let us know before take-off, and we can adjust our departure. In case of failure to inform us, the booking will be considered as starting from the original time communicated by you.
  • Who will do my makeup and hairstyling?
    Hair and makeup for all brides are done by our in-house bridal artists. These are the senior-most makeup and hair artists in our team, and have been extensively trained and mentored by Bina. They are full time employees with us - we do not sent freelancers or contracted artists for brides. As a bride, are encouraged to get a trial with us. You can book the same artists that do your trial, subject to availability a time of booking*. For major functions, we send you two artists, a bridal hair specialist and a bridal makeup specialist. For minor functions, we send you one senior artist, who does both your hair and makeup. This maybe a different artist from the ones who did your trial, as trials are for major function looks. All planning and discussions for ALL bridal bookings the bride are personally handled by Bina, so when you book with us, you will be detailing out your requirements directly with Bina. 80 - 90% of our bridal bookings are executed by our bridal artists. If you specifically wish to book Bina for your wedding, this is available as the Bridal Art Team option (see next question) *artists who do your trial are available on your wedding dates when you do the trial. However, you may not make the decision immediately, and may decide to book us after a few days, weeks or months. If the same artists are available, we will allocate them for you, however, in case they are booked for another requirement on your dates, they may not be available
  • Will my makeup and hair be done by Bina Punjani?
    Only if you specifically book her (at part of the Art Team), and only for bridal hairstyling. Bina is the brand head for Bina Punjani Hair Studio, Academy and Bridals. She is one of India's biggest names in the salon industry, and has over 20 years of experience. While Bina does know makeup, she has chosen to specialize in hairdressing and hairstyling. She guides and mentors all the hair and makeup artists in the system, but does not do makeup herself. She also personally discusses and plans the looks with each bride that books with us. Bina is available for bridal hairstyling, but her charges are higher - it costs 10,000 more per function. This is available as a booking with the Bridal Art Team (Rs. 35,000 per function for hair plus makeup / Rs. 22,500 for only hair by Bina Punjani, for most venues in Goa). Bina is available only for bridal hairstyling, she does not do hairstyling for guest bookings. If you still wish to book Bina for a non-bridal requirement, bridal rates will apply (35,000 / 22,500 as above, for upto 4 people / 3 hours).
  • How long does hairstyling and makeup take?
    MAJOR FUNCTION (2 artists) This takes about 2 to 2 and a half hours, with both artists working simultaneously part of the time. We suggest starting 3 hours before the ready time, just to give you some breathing space, and to take into account interruptions, phone calls, putting on outfits or any unanticipated changes. MINOR FUNCTIONS (one artist) This take about an hour and a half (45 min for hair, 45 min for makeup). We suggest starting 2 hours before the ready time. CHANGE OF LOOK In this, is when we transform the look for one function (e.g. wedding look) to a look for the next function (e.g. reception). In this case, we do not start from scratch, we do modifications or changes. This takes about 45 min to an hour. TOUCH UP In this, we refresh of the same look with minor changes (lip color, opening of hair etc). This takes about 15 -20 min.
  • What is included in the pricing?
    The pricing includes: Hairstyling HD makeup (or Airbrush makeup, available on request) Regular nail paint False eyelashes Regular (minor) hair accessories, stuffings etc One set of synthetic hair extensions Fresh flowers as per local availability (on request) Fixing of extensions, if brough by bride Lehnga assistance/ dupatta setting Saree draping assistance (we do not have saree draping expertise, but are happy to assist) Also included: Travel Taxes What is NOT included Real hair extensions Gel nail paint Saree draping
  • Are hair extensions included? Can I rent them from you?
    One set of synthetic hair extensions are included for brides who book at least one major function with us. These are very good quality and look natural, but they cannot be heat styled (ie no ironing, tongs etc). This means that have to be used in the same texture they are in. Human hair extension are not included in the pricing. We are happy to work with any extensions you bring, or you can purchase them from us. The bride can keep the extensions with her, we do not take them back. We ensure that extensions used for one person are not reused for someone else. Hence we do not rent or take back extensions.
  • Do you include complimentary makeup for the groom or mother or sister of bride in your pricing?
    No, our pricing is only for the bride. We believe each bride should only pay for what she is getting. Not every bride has an add-on requirement and should not be paying a plus 1 price unless she has a plus 1. The mother of sister of the bride can get their hair and makeup done by the bridal artists for the same price as option 1 (Rs. 5,000 for hair plus makeup), as long as it is done in the same room as the bride. However, the 2 member bridal team can only take on 1 additional person - in case it is 2 people (or more), we will add on an artist.
  • Do you offer services for the groom?
    Yes, these services are offered with the same artist(s) that come for the bride or for guests We charge Rs. 500 for hair styling and Rs. 2,500 for hairstyling and makeup Groom's hair and makeup can also be booked as part of a guest package
  • Do you offer a trial? How much does it cost?
    Yes we offer (and encourage) a trial. A trial costs: Rs. 5,000 at our salon in Panjim / Porvorim, and is fully adjustable against 10% of the final booking , with at least one major function booked (so, if the booking is 50,000 or more, the full amount gets adjusted) Rs. 5,000 at our salon in Margao, non adjustable Rs. 10,000 at most venues, non-adjustable Trials are available only for brides looking to book at least one major function with us
  • Can I keep my trial hair and makeup or use it for an event or function?
    No, once the trial is done, we will need to remove your hair and makeup. In case you wish to keep your hair and makeup, charges will be applicable.
  • When should I get a trial?
    There are two very different reasons to get a trial: BEFORE BOOKING US: the trial is an audition to decide if we are the right option for you. In this case, do the trial as early as possible, as a late trial comes with the risk of non availability AFTER BOOKING US: you have already booked us and paid the advance. I this case, the trial is a dress rehearsal - we use it to try out a look, discuss options and get to know your preferences. In this case, do the trial as late as possible (close to the wedding date), as you'll have the hair length / texture and other attributes that are closest to your wedding date
  • What is your makeup philosophy / style? And what is bespoke hairstyling and makeup?
    At Bina Punjani Bridals we firmly believe that the bride should look like the best possible version of herself (and be recognizable!) The idea is to highlight your strengths and draw attention away from other aspects, with subtle, contemporary and sophisticated makeup that looks and feels light, but flawless. Similarly, our hairstyling aims to bring out the strongest aspects of your features, working with your face shape, hairline and other aspects. It aims to be elegant and compliment your makeup, your features and your outfit. We believe that every bride is different, and are against making all our brides look the same. We offer a bespoke service - we customize the look for each each bride, function wise, based on your pictures, hair length, features, outfits and your own personal preferences. Bina personally discusses and plans each look with all brides.
  • What products do you use?
    We work exclusively with high quality professional HD makeup products, and use a mix of brands such as Kryolan, Inglot, MAC, Huda Beauty, Inglot, PAC, LA Girl etc. Similarly, for hairstyling, we use high quality professional products across various brands, suck as Schwarzkopf, Loreal etc. We have substantial experience working with brides in Goa, and have curated a set of high quality makeup and hair products based on this. This helps us ensure we can deliver high quality, long lasting results that work with Goa's weather.
  • What if I want only a specific brand / brands of products to be used?
    We curate our makeup kits with high quality products from different brands. This is because some brands may have one or two excellent products, but other products in their range may be better with another brand. If you wish for us to work with a specific product from a specific brand, and we have it, we would be happy to. If we don't, we can offer you alternatives from what we have, but we cannot assure you that we will work only with a specific brand or brands. We however make sure everything we use is high quality professional grade and more importantly, works with the weather in Goa. You can, of course, choose to bring in your own makeup, if you wish and we are happy to work with it.
  • What about salon services like haircuts, color, beauty services etc?
    We have 4 salons in Goa offering high quality hair and beauty services. You can get more details of our services, pricing and locations here. For brides that have confirmed bookings with us, we offer a flat 20% off for the bride and groom on all services, for 30 days before and after the booking date. In addition, immediate family members (mother, father, direct siblings) of bride and groom get 15% off, and other relatives / entourage members get 10% off, when they visit with the bride / groom during this period. All services are offered in our salons. We do not offer salon services at venue. If services are booked as home services (details in salon section), the discounts do not apply.
  • Do you provide jewellery or accessories such a maang tika, tiara etc?
    No, we only include minor accessories. We do not rent or provide jewellery or major accessories.
  • Who will do my makeup and hairstyling? Can i choose the artists?
    All hair and makeup is done by experienced artists that are extensively trained and mentored by us, and work in the same system under Bina's guidance. We have a large in-house capability of about 15-16 artists that are our full time employees. In addition, we also have access to many hair and makeup artists who are trained by us at our academy and have significant experience working independently. For guest / family bookings, we send only our in-house artists for most bookings. For larger bookings, we occasionally deploy some of the best artists who have been trained by us as the academy, and have significant experience working independently. In all cases, it is our responsibility as a brand that you get a high quality of service that is consistent with our brand language. We typically allocate artists for each booking only a few days before the date, so that we can effectively deploy our teams across multiple requirements. It is not possible for you to choose specific artists. However, if there are any artists that you have worked with before and wish to request, you can let us know, and we will do our best to allocate them for your booking.
  • What products do you use?

  • What is included in the pricing?

  • What about hair extensions?
    Hair extensions are not included in guest hair and makeup charges. We are happy to work with any extensions you bring, or you can purchase them from us. A set of synthetic hair extensions atypically costs Rs. 1,800 to Rs. 2,500 and can be used for multiple functions. These are very good quality and look natural, but they cannot be heat styled (ie no ironing, tongs etc). This means that have to be used in the same texture they are in. We ensure that extensions used for one person are not reused for someone else. Hence we do not rent or take back extensions.
  • Do you offer trials?
    We typically do not offer trials for guest / family bookings. However, if you wish to get a trial to check our work out, you can do so at our salon in Panjim or Porvorim at a charge of Rs. 4,000, or at Margao for Rs. 8,000 or at your venue for Rs. 12,000. This is non-adjustable against the final booking upto Rs. 4,000 for bookings of Rs. 1 lakh or more. However, we are unable to specifically book the same artist that did the trial for you, as artists are allocated only a few days in advance.. We will try our best to accommodate the request, but cannot guarantee the same artist.
  • What is the difference between Option 1 (per guest) and Option 2 (per artist)?
    OPTION 1 In option 1, you pay per service. We charge you for each hairstyle and each makeup you get done. Hair plus makeup costs Rs. 6000 / Rs. 5000 per guest, and only hair or only makeup costs Rs. 3,000 / Rs. 2,500 per service. This is a flat charge, and does not depend on how simple or complicated the service is. For example, we would charge exactly the same for a blowdry and a reasonably elaborate up do. This covers any service that can be done within 30-45 min (1 - 1.5 hours for hair + makeup per guest) OPTION 2 In option 2, we charge you for our time. This is typically Rs. 10-12,000 per artist for a 3 hour service. Whatever you get done within those 3 hours is included. This is useful if some (or all) guests have relatively simple requirements. An easy way to understand this is to think of option 1 as an a-la-carte system (where you pay for each dish you order) and option 2 as a buffet system (where you pay a flat charge for whatever you eat)
  • Can I switch between Option 1 and 2?
    Yes, you can, even on the day. For example, you can book option 1 for 3 guests (Rs. 18,000 with 2 artists). And if, on the day, you have 2 or 3 additional people, you can simply convert it to Option 2 (Rs. 24,000 for 2 artists), as long as all the services are done within 3 hours. Similarly, you can book 6 artists in Option 2 (Rs. 60,000), but if only 8 or 9 people get services done, you can pay Rs. 48,000 under Option 2 (service cost = 8/9 x Rs. 5,000 = 40,000 / 45,000, minimum booking requirement for 6 artists = Rs. 48.000 @Rs. 8,000 per artist) Please note, in case you wish to switch from one option to the other, you will have to request this, we are unable to keep track and optimise this for you on the day of the booking.
  • Which option is better for me?
    Option 1 is more expensive, but is quicker, since you get a larger number of artists. Option 2 costs less, but takes more time, as you get a smaller number of artists. For example, a 10-12 guest booking would cost Rs. 50 - 60,000 in option 1, but you get 6-7 artists, which means everyone gets ready quicker On the other hand, for the same group, if the requirements are not very elaborate, you could book 4 artists for Rs. 40,000 in Option 2, which is a much lower cost. But since there are only 4 artists, your group will take longer to get ready. Typically, Option 1 is designed to get everyone ready within 2 hours, and Option 2 is within 3 hours. Option 2 is also great for groups that have variable requirements. Since a blowdry takes less time than an updo, you can fit in more services in 3 hours. We typically recommend Option 1 for smaller groups (2-4 people), or for people with detailed requirements such as sister or mother of bride or groom. And Option 2 for larger groups.
  • How many people can one artist handle (Option 1)?
    Each service* (hair or makeup) can take anywhere between 20-45 min, depending on various factors such as style chosen, hair length and thickness, type of makeup, coverage required etc. Typically, a hair OR makeup artist can do 5 to 8 hair OR makeup services* in 3 hours. Thus a team of 2 artists can typically handle 5 - 7 guests, if the requirements are not elaborate. *please note hair is one service, makeup is another service. If a guest is getting both hair and makeup done, that is 2 services
  • Can I simply book you, and have each guest pay you directly for herself?
    No, we require an assured booking (as per option 1 or 2), when we send a team. We do offer the option of collecting payments directly from guests under the MINIMUM GUARANTEE OPTION (details in next question), but the person who books us needs to cover any shortfall. Alternatively, if you do not wish to have any involvement with payments, you can refer us to your guests and they can book us directly.
  • I do want to provide hair and makeup services to my guests, but I don't really want to take up such a big cost. Do you have a third option for me?
    Yes, we also offer services on a Minimum Guarantee (MG) basis. In this, you ask us to send you a certain number of artists (say 5), and we collect the charges for hair and makeup directly from the guests. You simply guarantee to cover any shortfall from the minimum required collection for these 6 artists (Rs. 60,000*). So, if we end up collecting Rs. 48,000 directly from the guests, you pay us the remaining Rs. 12,000* to make the total Rs. 60,000. We also let you decide the price we should charge your guests. Setting a lower price (say Rs. 1,500 to 2,000 per service) lets a larger number of people avail the service, while you simply cover the shortfall with a relatively small amount. This is actually a great option if you wish to provide hair and makeup services to your guests, but do not want to pay for the whole thing yourself. By simply covering the shortfall, you ensure: you guarantee availability of quality hair and makeup to your guests at a fraction of the cost to you you ensure that only the people that are keen to get hair and makeup avail the service (as they are willing to pay) you eliminate guests who land up to get hair and makeup only when it is complimentary, thus limiting the service to only those that actually value it a lower number of artists as not everyone gets hair and makeup done you can provide services at a lower rate than we would charge directly by covering the shortfall (* you can avail this under Option 1-MG or Option 2-MG. OPTION 1 applies when we charge the guests as per option 1 rates. For example, for 6 artists, we will need to receive at least Rs. 48,000 (6 artists x Rs. 8,000 under option 1). OPTION 2 applies when we charge the guests lower rates as decided by the you. For 6 artists, we need to receive at least Rs. 60,000 (6 artists x Rs. 10,000 under option 2).
  • Can the same artist do both hair and makeup?
    We have 3 types of artists: Hair artists, who do only hairstyling Makeup artis, who do only makeup Dual-skilled artists, who do both hair and makeup We have a mix of the 3 types, with about 3-4 dual skilled artists in our team Specialized artists (1 and 2) tend to offer a wider range of options. For most bookings we send a number of hair artists, makeup artists, and 1 or 2 dual skilled artists to offer flexibility
  • Can the artists do services in different rooms / locations in the same property?
    Our artists need to be setup in a specific location. The come and do an elaborate setup with quite a bit of equipment, so it is not possible to repack everything and setup at a different location. In case you are hiring multiple artists, you can choose to setup different teams at different locations. For example, you could have a separate setup for the groom's side and a separate setup for the bride's side.
  • How many hair, makeup and dual skilled artists will you send?
    No
  • What if I need to add / subtract artists from my booking?
    In case you need additional artists, or if you require lesser artists than you have booked, we typically have the flexibility to add or subtract one or two artists. Adding artists might only be a challenge in case of exceptional rush with multiple bookings on the same day, but we do try our best to deliver. Subtracting one or two artists for bigger bookings is typically done without charge. In case of larger subtractions or smaller bookings, charges may apply
  • What time should the booking start?
    For a 3 hour booking, we recommend starting 2 hours before the function time. For example, if your Sangeet is at 8 pm, we recommend booking us from 6 pm to 9 pm. Why? No one turns up for hair and makeup 3 hours before a function Most functions don't start on time Most guests tend to enter a function later than the announced start time You pay for the hours you booked. Start too early and you'll end up paying for artists sitting around not doing much
  • Can I book bridal artists for guest / family hair and makeup?
    Hair and makeup for all brides are done by our in-house bridal artists. These are the senior-most makeup and hair artists in our team, and have been extensively trained and mentored by Bina.   • Can I book Bina Punjani for my hair and makeup?
    Bina is the brand head for our Salon, Academy and Bridal brand. She does not do makeup, and does hairstyling only for brides, for which her charges are Rs. 22,500 per function for the bride. In case you wish to book Bina for non-bridal hair, you can choose to do so at the bridal rate of Rs. 22,500 per function for a maximum of 4 hairstyles.
  • How do I book your services?

  • Do you offer packages and discounts?
    No, our prices are transparent and completely fixed. We want to make sure no one feels that someone else got a better price or they could have got a lower price by negotiating. We also handle hundreds of enquiries, with many of them being referrals. It becomes impossible for us to keep track of different pricing offered to different people.
  • Can I block or tentatively book your services?
    No, any interaction is either an enquiry or a confirmed booking. We require a 50% payment for confirmation of booking.
  • When should I book you?

  • What is your cancellation policy?
    CANCELLATION POLICY Booking amount will be returned after deduction of cancellation charges as follows: Over 3 months in advance: 10% 1 - 3 months: 20% 15 days to 1 month: 30% 5 days to 14 days: 40% Less than 5 days: 50% Cancellation charges are calculated on the total booking amount
  • What if the wedding is cancelled because of extraordinary events like Covid 19?
    In case of cancellation due to unforseen events or acts of God, we offer a full refund without any deduction. However, you may need to establish the reason for cancellation, in case of any uncertainty. If the wedding itself is cancelled, we typically offer a refund with lower cancellation charges than normal. This will be at our discretion.
  • Are taxes and travel included? Are there any additional charges?
    Our prices are all-inclusive. Taxes, travel, refreshments etc are all covered. There are no additional or hidden charges. The price you see is the price you pay.
